The Theoretical and Mathematical Ecology Graduate Program (TME) at the University of Miami is an interdisciplinary collaborative effort of the Departments of Biology and Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. TME offers joint Ph.D./M.S. degrees in the Mathematics/Biology, Mathematics/Marine Science, Biology/Mathematics, and Marine Science/Mathematics. The aim of the program is to produce state-of-the-art ecological scientists who are not only thoroughly trained in a primary field (be it biology, mathematics, or marine science) but who also have extensive experience in a secondary field and in communicating across disciplines and working in teams to solve problems.
Interested students must be admitted to the Ph.D. program in Mathematics, Biology or Marine Science in order to qualify for the TME program. Students should apply to the unit from which the Ph.D. is sought and should indicate interest in the TME program at the time of application.
